"...her music was just so beautiful. It really did make me cry as I walked down the aisle!"

Lowri - Wedding

The pure and expressive sound of a harp is breathtakingly romantic for ceremonies and private events. When guests get to hear our Harp players and their mastery it adds an atmospheric elegance to any event. Amy Turk is one of our talented Harpists, currently studying her Masters Degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, building a wealth of experience in not only playing function events but in larger venues including The Royal Albert Hall. Amy Turk has also played the National Trust Petworth Proms, performing to more than 8000 people.

Harpist

Travels UK Wide

Amy Turk is a harpist working throughout England. She has more than a decade of experience performing at high profile concerts, events, functions, wedding ceremonies, and has toured extensively throughout the UK. Amy can play pieces from any genre or time period to suit the special requirements of the occasion.

Amy's fascination with the harp began when she was six years old, and from the age of seven she was fortunate to be taught by the charismatic Ann Hughes-Chamberlain, herself a pupil of the legendary Lily Laskine. From the very beginning, Amy won the hearts of her audiences with her passion and honesty, playing both at intimate gatherings and at large events. During her teens she became a junior scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, and won awards at numberous music festivals.

Amy is now studying for a masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music under Karen Vaughan, co-principal harpist with the London Symphony Orchestra. Amy accepts regular engagements as a solo artist, and her work includes orchestral and recording assignments in addition to special events.

Notable work and performances include:

- The National Trust Petworth Prom, an audience of 8000, with the Hindhead Harpists

- Royal Albert Hall with the Surrey Harp Ensemble.

- Harpist for Woking Symphony Orchestra.

-Selected as the only UK harp finalist for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra competition 2011, performing the Handel Harp Concerto (1st mvt).

- Performed alongside well regarded folk and contemporary acoustic artists including Julie Felix, John Renbourn, Robin Williamson, Thomas Leeb, Trace Bundy, Pierre Bensusan, Jon Gomm and Chris Wood.

"Amy played at my Wedding reception for around 60 people, she really brightened up our meal with her fantastic talent. Amy was very accommodating and discussed my needs and wants prior to the wedding. She happily took song requests and even learned a song that was special to me that she wasn't so familiar with, which really made her performance spectacular. She even offered to wear a ball gown the same colour as our wedding colour scheme!"

Suzanne - Wedding

"Thank you very much for playing so beautifully for us at Loseley. Everyone was very complementary!"

Siobhan - Frimley Park Hospital

"Amy was a joy to work with, er presence was calming and professional, and her music was just beautiful. It really did make me cry as I walked down the aisle! I would definitely recommend her. Thank you for being a part of our special day."

Lowri - Wedding

"Amy was recommended to us by a friend after we decided to hire a harpist to play during our wedding in May 2010. We made a visit to her home and found her to be a talented musician who had not only researched our preferred genre but was prepared to learn new music too. Having been new to harp music, we felt this approach was a very helpful, enjoyable and rewarding one. Her performance during our reception was the perfect complement to the day so we would not hesitate in recommending Amy to anyone."

Gavin and Louise, Wedding

"Our wedding was the most perfect day and everything was absolutely superb. Our harpist Amy made our ceremony and wedding breakfast just that little bit more special. All tunes were agreed beforehand and she actually had to play one of our favourites twice as it was playing as my new husband and myself left the Ceremony room!! We have since received two requests for her details as she made such an impact on all our guests (not bad out of 40 guests). I could not have been happier with her part in our wonderful day."

Hayley, Wedding

"We just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for making our wedding service so memorable. Your harp playing was beautiful and has been commented on by many of our guests since."

Sarah and Paul, Wedding

"We would like to thank you so much for helping to make this such a stunning and memorable occasion. So many of our guests remarked upon not only the choice of harp music for the occasion, but also the perfection of your skill and feeling in playing - it was very emotional and evocative of the event and setting."

Lorraine (Mother of Bride) - Wedding

"Thank you very much for playing at our wedding, glad I found you!"

Janette, Wedding
